FLSA is very proud to announce the introduction of the Flinders University Law School rugby jumpers! These jumpers are of a very high quality and include hand embroidered lettering. FLSA will be selling these jumpers this semester. Read on for the finer details!

Price: The new jumpers will be on sale for $80 for FLSA members, $85 for non members and online sales. This is literally how much it costs us to make and sell them - that's right we are selling them at cost price!

When: The new jumpers will be innitially on sale for the first three weeks of term. The first order will be placed at the end of week one - so get in quick! FLSA will be in the Law Courtyard every weekday from 11am - 2pm, but you can always place your order online!

Orders: The jumpers are ordered as required. The first order will be sent off at the end of week one. All orders must be paid in full at the time of ordering - no exceptions

Why: Because they are exceptionally good quality, and are damn fine looking! Don't believe me? Just see the photos below to see what they did for our committee members!

So get to it! Head to flsa.org.au/jumpers to place your order now

A note about sizes: The jumpers are unisex so the sizes are a little larger than you would expect. We strongly recommend that you come and try one on before you order! We have all sizes available to try before you buy. If you absolutely cannot come in to uni to try one on a rough guide is that they are a half to a whole size larger than normal sizes, so if you are a medium you may want a small etc.

We want you!

By-Election for positions on the Flinders Law Students' Association now open. FLSA is the best way to develop professional skills you need as a lawyer or executive. For more information, email \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The 'Voiceless' animal law lecture series is coming to Flinders University!

Now in its fourth year, this year’s Series will be our biggest yet, with 12 free events held in conjunction with leading universities and legal professional associations across the country. As you may know, Voiceless is a leader the cutting-edge area of animal law. Last year, we produced the Animal Law Toolkit (which you download for free) which provides an overview of the animal law movement in Australia.

At this year’s Animal Law Lecture Series our special guest speaker is leading US animal lawyer, Joyce Tischler, who will share her experience of the birth of the animal law movement thirty years ago in San Francisco and how a handful of attorneys set in train a revolution that has touched the lives of billions of animals worldwide.

Come along to the lecture and find out more about animal law. Click here to register for free.

Ms Tischler will be speaking at a public event at Flinders Law School!

Date: Friday 13 August 2010

Time: 1pm – 2pm

Venue: Flinders University Moot Court, Room LWCM 0.03

This lecture, kindly supported by Flinders Law School, will be opened by the Dean of Law, Professor David Bamford, and chaired by Katrina Sharman, Corporate Counsel of Voiceless.

It has been a very busy few weeks for the competitions team!

FLSA would like to thank Colthorpe Lawyers and Kelly and Co for their generous sponsorship of the FLSA competitions. It is safe to say that we would never have been hold these competitions without their support, both through their sponsorship contributions and the generous donation of their time to assist with judging the competition rounds.

A special thanks must be extended to Ross Colthorpe and Gerry Bowen from Colthorpe Lawyers, Robert Cameron from Bar Chambers (who came to our aid with only a few hours notice!) and Paul Bullock fom Kelly and Co for assisting with judging the competition rounds and finals.

Last - but certainally not least - congratulations to Rachael Wang (runner up), Michael Swanson and David Mason for making it to the final round of the Kelly and Co Open Moot, and to William Phillips for making it to the final round of the Colthorpe Lawyers Witness Exam.
